Danwei reports on this ad:
"Lena awoke that morning to discover that her car keys and deposit book had disappeared. On the table was a slip of paper: Dear, they're breaking ground on the final building in Energetic City Life. I'll email you the specifics. Love, your husband".
This ad, which ran in the Beijing Youth Daily on January 8th 2008, is for Energetic City Life (沸城), a residential development inside the southwest Fifth Ring (lets say it mildly -- its damn far far away from the centre).
.... my question is ( and its purely abstract one, relax Danwei) does it work?
I guess it should, since its out there. Yet, in my humble opinion, if this ad would run in US, most probably the one who would be waking up finding no keys and no check book would be ... the husby …. thinking of which, I am starting to recall ... in my quite lux condo complex here, most of the top-branded cars are driven by women. I guess husbies just took regular bus to work, busting their butts to please the boss ...
