Richard Branson, head of Virgin Company and king of publicity stunts, challenged rival airline Quantas head, Geoff Dixon, to a bet where the loser would have to wear the rival's stewardess uniform and serve customers on a trans-atlantic flight between Australia and London. Branson's bet was based on whether he could establish a Virgin flight in 18 months from Australia to London.
